Hope for Our Work

Reflection and response questions:

Read the beginning, middle, and end of the Bible’s story about the curse on our work, in (beginning) Genesis 1:26-28 and Genesis 3:17-19; (middle) Ecclesiastes 2:18-23; and (end) Revelation 22:1-5.

1. Without a curse on our work, what will work look like and feel like? Picture it and share parts of your picture.
2. As followers of Jesus, who are called to perform a preview of the world Jesus will re-create, how can we preview curse-less work? Talk about ways we can preview that, including how we can do that in our specific workplaces and industries.
3. Encouragement and affirmation of jobs well done are tastes of curse-less work. How can you encourage and affirm the work of people around you—and so preview Jesus’ new world or “his kingdom”?
