Reflection and response question
Read Matthew 6:9-15
- “It can be hard to (1) acknowledge our need for forgiveness from others and from God and (2) acknowledge that we’ve been wronged and need to forgive others.” Discuss.
- Read Matt 6:14-15 again and Matt 18:21-35. Is there a limit to forgiveness? Are there wrongs it is more just not to forgive? How does Jesus answer in these verses?
- “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another” (Romans 13:8). How does this connect to our forgiveness of others in light of God’s forgiveness of us?
